Apparently, you do. :) As for cloning, every woman I know could use another pair of arms. Maybe not attached to her person or her clone, but just saying...
This is a really interesting story - it seems like all over the world fish stocks are declining at a precipitous rate. The Sea of Galilee is truly one of the most beautiful places in Israel and it would be a real shame if over-fishing did real and lasting harm to the fish population there.
Yes, I guess we have to find a balance. As far as energy is concerned, why not using it if it's environmentally friendly and it cost nothing to us. I just came across this perpetual motion energy system that needs no energy to run and it's friendly to the environment. Here is the link if you want to find out more abut it. http://www.squidoo.com/homemadegeneratorguide
It’s great to see leaders in the Middle East actively engaging with environmental issues. I was particularly struck by the Sheikh’s comment that one of the things that inspired him to devote his time and energy to the environment was seeing his father train falcons for hunting, and coming to realize that all parts of an eco-system are connected to one another. I think this is something that needs to be emphasized more when it comes to educating people about the importance of respecting and preserving the natural world – we need to find ways to help people see these connections on a deeper level. It also seems like he is very aware of some of the most pressing environmental issues facing the region, including water scarcity and long-term planning to address natural resource problems facing every country in the Middle East. His comments about the connections he sees between basic tenets of Islam and environmental responsibility also struck a chord with me. As the editor of the New Vilna Review, I spend a good deal of time writing about Jewish identity in general, and often about Judaism and the environment. I found it fascinating to get a glimpse in this interview into how a leader of another faith draws a connection between his own beliefs and a responsibility to care for the earth. Perhaps the Sheikh would someday be interested in working Israeli leaders and organizations to help address some of the serious challenges faced by both nations, when it comes to natural resource management and ecological preservation.
One of the most impressive things about Israel has always been the way that it has found creative solutions to difficult problems when it comes to agriculture, but it is really nice to see people turning their attention now to using technology to help improve and maintain Israel’s natural environment by finding new ways of reducing energy use and taking steps to help repair coastal erosion. I am a bit puzzled by the attorney general’s statement that the state is obliged to take action but not to fund the repairs to Israel’s coastline – perhaps there is room here for a partnership between the government and local businesses or non-profits. As for powering streetlights by using small wind turbines, I think this is a magnificent idea and if it proves to be a successful model other countries and the Middle East could adopt it as a way to help overall power consumption.
Very interesting interview Karin. Green Prophet has shaped up to be the place where I get most of my environmental news on the Middle East.
Sheikh Nuaimi's point about water being the most important issue in the Middle East is no doubt a poignant one that should be taken into consideration in future development and security planning in this region.
very intersting interview, i like it that the shick is looking for holestic models
i know so many green place s invermental projects witch was abanded because people init could not live together in peace, the first sustanability is the human sustenability.

yes! it is true! smoking really affects IQ level! and alcohol too!
one of the best Lebanese foods is the Mezze. The Mezze is that one single dish which can be attributed to have made Lebanese cuisine world famous. Mezze is nothing but a mixture of about 30 (maybe more or less, but usually, its thirty) dishes, hold and cold, served simultaneously.
I think this is a great idea to power air conditioning with solar energy. This informative posting was really enjoyable to read.
Dear ,This is venture from china solar panel manufature company of Top Venture Energy Limited.i can provide solar panel, solar controller, solar inverter ,solar water heater and related solar energy products. Please contact email:topsolarenergy@yahoo.com
great article, hope the sun will rise on all of the middle east
Seems similar to Daewoo Matiz/ Chevrolet Spark body equipped with the former 796 cm3 Suzuki engine.
Wow, what an inspirational story above. It just goes to show the power of natural healthy foods and the right mindset I'm sure. Well done to Christina, and she looks bloody good for 54!
I would like to add that we can't put all the blame on the Brits just because they bought Gulf Oil Company a number of years ago. Gulf was a big oil and natural explorer and producer in the Gulf of Mexico; and along with other American oil companies (Texaco in particular)have been in involved in these offshore wells there for years.
But no matter who is considered to be responsible, the damage has been done; and the question now is whether the Gulf Coast can be saved. This well continues to spew oil into the water and could take 3 months to cap!
I don't know if you guys noticed but, by occupying the pedestrian part of the street, Hapoalim's corporate exhibition has pushed masses of pedestrians into Rothschild Boulevard's bike lane. Ironically, the municipality just put up huge posters, with slogans along the lines of "some things just don't mix," calling on pedestrians to keep off the bike lane. Little bit absurd, and a bit of a shame, since the bike lane is way greener than anything I saw in the exhibition...
Why is the URL stating "blame the British"?
Do you actually mean blame the British people for the oil slick, or BP (a company)?
David is from a long line of do-gooders that aren't giver-uppers....JUST like me... Dino Miles Curtis. Being a surfer, sailor,(butterfly),myself. I completley see eye to eye with Rothschild. I live in a plastic environment study as well. It is the waterproofing for health and well being, more people should be doing. It cuts expenses, and grows better food, than you can purchase in the stores.
Now we need to crack-down on Pollution tests for our children getting their first drivers licenses. To enforce new age polluting restrictions on young motorists. This would educate our new world orders of drivers and Mom's and Dad's. You will have your license revoked with any polluting being caught. You will have promotions in school for catching polluters. We need to act now! These plastics last forever, and you are part of it. Get going!!!! Cowabunga! Surfs up!!! Captain Dino Miles Curtis
Maybe this could work while we are waiting for green tomatoes to turn yellow. . .
it answers it correctly! An action to new environment of David modernizes the world. It is a review to natural energies such as the velocity of the wind and an energy shift to the light of the sun. Furthermore, We protect the sea, and it will be the times to get energy from the sea. We follow David, too.
Wonderful to see a coalescing of the young and the old, NGO's and politicians, religion and science. Shows how important the Jordan River is for all these stratas of society and how water can truly be a binding force for cross-border cooperation. Very interesting Karin.
Agreed. Maybe some youth from this region could participate somehow in your study and investigation of water for Middle East security. The environmentalists certainly need to be there... FoEME is a great project.
Interesting article, i always thought that eating fast caused are to eat more and that by slow eating we would feel fuller sooner. it makes sense that stress plays a part in how we eat and therefore could be responsible for weight problems.
Many Companies today are investing in Renewable Energy and specially in Lebanon. As UPSAPS.com says that Lebanon is not only the Biggest Water tank in the Middle East But he is also the biggest power plant in the Middle East for All Kind Of Alternative Energy Like : Wind, Solar, Hydrogene, Biogas, Biofuel, Biomass,...
maybe YOU are the one who should go and get some education. if that photo and the facts presented is not animal abuse to you - then clearly there is something wrong with you. people who abuse animals like that should go rot in hell, there has been a link between animals abusers and criminals, murders, and sick, twisted people. you probably wouldnt know this as you don't seem to know very much, and lack the normal intellectual skills of the average person. like the animal abusers, go rot in hell, or rather go back to school. humans and animals are equal, and should be treated as such.
